For the first time this month, we are delighted to introduce
this new page providing a quick snapshot of performance for big
brand names across the industry.
Essentially, this snapshot of Brand Names at a Glance simply
tabulates the type of information we have been gathering
through our ongoing editorial research and reporting for many
months in the investment performance section - but makes the
findings quicker and easier to view.
The table combines a roughly equal number of funds where
numbers were reported directly from the managers and funds for
which either estimated or final returns were gleaned from
market sources by our team in the course of their regular
research. Market sources reported, for instance, that Farallon
had an estimated gain of 2% in February, although we should
stress that, as in a number of cases, this figure was not
confirmed by the firm itself.
