Ramius Capital Group has launched a global systematic long/short equity strategy managed by Andrei Pokrovsky, a former executive at the quantitative hedge fund operator Numeric Investors.

Ramius, the $8 billion New York-based multistrategy shop, currently manages $3.8 billion in hedge fund assets.
