Outdoorsman and Tudor Investment founder Paul Tudor Jones is pushing Florida to buy up 180,000 acres of the Everglades from U.S. Sugar and seems to have encouraged the South Florida Water Management District to consider less traditional ways of financing the purchase. The district has loosened its financing rules to allow it to issue more debt and to secure financing from mores sources, including hedge funds. That opens the door for Jones to get involved in the deal, though there's no evidence that he'd want to. Meanwhile, Glades farmers have begun calling the district's amendment the "Paul Tudor Jones clause."
