The acquisition by equity-focused manager Liontrust of credit specialist Ilex has ensured the survival of one of the longest-running long/short European credit funds and it has created a platform for Liontrust to expand its business significantly into the fixed-income space at a time of fast-growing investor interest in credit as an asset class.
