Global Advisors, the commodities trading advisor co-founded by Russell Newton and Danny Masters, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year - a rare milestone in the Darwinian world of hedge funds and an even rarer one for a European firm.

The anniversary follows a bumper year of fund-raising for the firm in 2008 - a year when many hedge fund investors generally fled even the strongly performing funds in droves. The firm has recently consolidated its two offices, in London and New York, into a single operation on the island of Jersey and is on track to manage a record volume of assets by this summer.
