US equity veteran Corcell lines up major new launch with RWC

Experienced US equity long/short manager Mike Corcell is getting ready to start trading his new fund at London-based RWC Partners in what looks likely to be one of the more significant new equity launches this year.

Corcell, a highly regarded US equity manager who has been running hedge fund money since 1996 at Karsch, Threadneedle and SAC Capital, has already assembled a seasoned five-strong team and RWC is looking to launch the new Biltmore fund in September.

The team has a collective 22 years of hedge fund experience and comprises 10-year SAC and Pequot veteran Gabe Marshank, dedicated trader Hayes Varey and analysts Alex Robarts (who formerly worked with Corcell at Threadneedle) and Sam Weeman from JP Morgan.
