Alcentra rallies as distressed market peps up

US-based credit specialist Alcentra has enjoyed a storming rebound in the first half of the year with its Alcentra Global Special Situations distressed fund, which is up nearly 57% to the end of June.

The fund is run by seasoned distressed manager Damien Miller, the global head of special situations for Alcentra. Miller started his career as a distressed analyst at Barclays Capital in London in 1997, when the European distressed market was still in its infancy, and relocated to New York in 2002.
