Clarkson develops its focus on shipping with freight-only fund

Clarkson Fund Management, a division of the London-based shipbroker Clarksons, has just rolled out a second shipping-focused hedge fund to investors.

The Clarkson Freight Fund was incubated internally with a small seed investment from Clarksons and has been operating since October 2008. It has gained a punchy 18.8% in the past three months, and the fund is now open for outside investment.

The fund is more specialised than its predecessor, the Clarkson Shipping Hedge Fund, which launched in May 2006.
