Adelphi's Lars Dollmann is an emerging European equities manager with a difference, casting his net wider than most in search of undiscovered opportunities and lack of correlation

Lars Dollmann, the manager of the $100 million Adelphi Emerging Europe Fund, was introduced early to the realities and peculiarities of eastern Europe.

As a boy growing up in the rural north of west Germany, just a couple of kilometres from the border with the east and with some of his family living in the former GDR, Dollmann was aware from a young age of how different life was on the other side of the Iron Curtain.

He was 18 when the Wall came down and experienced at first hand the release of potential that resulted from the reintegration with the west of people who had endured the harshness of life in communist eastern Europe.
