Permin in 'pure alpha' equity trading launch

Permin, a new London-based multi-strategy equity proprietary trading operation, is seeking seed investment for its debut Permin Dynamic Alpha trading fund.

The fund will aim to deliver investors more accurately beta-adjusted returns and a higher degree of pure alpha performance than its founders claim is often the case with many long/short hedge funds.

Permin has been formed by two long-standing associates - former broker and property fund manager Scott Perkins (who has undertaken the academic and theoretical research behind the concept) and experienced equities prop trader Kingsley Minty (who will be responsible for the trading and risk management strategies in practice) - and the founders have brought in entrepreneur and businessman Tim Chadwick as chairman to help with capital-raising.
