Amber Capital builds on strong Italian presence with new fund to exploit market inefficiencies

Amber Capital, the New York-headquartered European event-driven specialist led by Joseph Oughourlian and Michel Brogard, is up and running with a dedicated Italian equity long/short fund that is managed from the firm's growing operation in Milan.

The Amber Italia Equity Fund, which is regulated by the Bank of Italy, was launched in November and is so far running around €25 million, with the aim of reaching €100 million in the next 12-18 months and with capacity reckoned to be around €300 million. It is up by around 2% since launch.
