Mermaid Asset Management, the Copenhagen-based hedge fund boutique focused exclusively on long/short Nordic equity investing, is aiming to grow its asset base and extend its reach to new investor markets after a long run of good performance.

The firm was founded in 2007 by Thomas Juul-Larsen and Ulrik Jonsen, two specialist Nordic stock-pickers who had worked together at ABN Amro in New York. Since launching the Mermaid Nordic Hedge Fund in September 2007, the strategy has produced an annualised return of 11.03% to the end of February this year.
