Merchant to offer hedge fund groups bespoke UCITS umbrellas for multiple fund roll-outs

Merchant Capital, the asset management firm set up late last year by ex-PCE Investors duo Chris Day and George Cadbury, is in talks with large hedge fund groups that want to set up their own umbrella structures through which to roll out multiple UCITS funds.

Merchant, which offers its own umbrella and has begun with the launch of a UCITS fund for Spanish distributor Tressis, would act as the underlying investment manager for each umbrella set up by a third-party firm.
