Martin Currie buys Sofaer’s European equity arm

Edinburgh-based 'big boutique’ Martin Currie Investment Management has added a long-running European long/short equity product to its stable of hedge fund offerings by acquiring the European equity business of Sofaer Capital.

Michael Browne and Steve Frost, who manage the 12-year-old Sofaer Capital European hedge fund, will join Martin Currie on 1 July and are taking their fund and investors with them. Charlotte Dagg, an investment analyst working on the fund, is expected to move across later in the year.
