Ex-Goldman private equity man Butler nears $100m with fledgling credit vehicle

Butler Investment Managers, a long/short credit boutique established last year by Goldman Sachs veteran Walter Butler, is getting close to the $100 million mark in advance of completing its one-year track record.

The firm's debut offering, the WB Opportunities Fund, is managed by the team that was previously responsible for running the Barep Global Credit fund at Société Générale. WB Opportunities has produced steady returns since launching last October, and has outperformed the average return for its peer group.
