Abaci rolls out its 'back-to-basics' value-oriented credit fund

Abaci Investment Management, a London boutique run by former TRI Asset Management portfolio manager Zaman Khan, has made its value-oriented credit strategy available to outside investors for the first time.

The firm was set up in 2008 and has been running the strategy in the form of a single-investor fund for a Benelux family office. It has now been ported to a pooled fund structure, the Capital Structure Globus Fund, which went live on 1 July.

As its name would suggest, the fund invests globally and across the capital structure. The strategy was devised in the immediate aftermath of the Lehman Brothers collapse, and represents a 'back-to-basics' approach to credit investing, says Khan. It uses...
