Benelux regional specialist Antaurus starts to gain traction with wider circle of clients

Four years on, the Dutch-based equity firm has racked up a strong track record and is now starting to appeal to a broader range of investors beyond its core clientele of Benelux high-net-worth individuals


Dutch hedge fund boutique Antaurus Capital Management has been on a roll with its Benelux-focused long/short equity fund, outperforming its peer group and producing solid returns for its high-net-worth client base.

Now four years in, the firm's founders are beginning to detect a ripple of interest from funds of hedge funds, which could see the €40 million Antaurus Europe Fund grow significantly.

The fund made an impressive 40% last year - compared with a gain of just under 12% for the EuroHedge European Equity index - and it has continued to outperform in 2010, posting a 4.87% return this year to the end of August, while the index is slightly down. In total, the fund has made 49.12% net since launching in late 2006, leading to an annualised return of 10.74%.
