Nektar Special Opportunity, one of Stockholm-based multi-strategy hedge fund group Brummer & Partners' successful fixed-income offerings managed by its affiliated Nektar Asset Management team, is being wound down ahead of time after two years of trading, with its managers declaring mission accomplished.

Nektar Special Opportunity is a sister fund to the firm's long-running and well-performing Nektar fixed-income fund, and was set up specifically to exploit the investment opportunities arising from the financial crisis.

The fund was rolled out with $500 million in April 2009, at a time when very few investors would commit to a new hedge fund launch....
