Hedge funds favour QIFs and SIFs over UCITS, says survey

Hedge fund managers will continue to create EU-domiciled hedge funds to complement their offshore vehicles – but Irish Qualified Investment Funds (QIFs) and Luxembourg Specialised Investment Funds (SIFs) are gaining popularity versus the much-feted UCITS framework, according to a new survey published by RBC Dexia and KPMG

The results of the study appear to challenge the notion that onshore domiciles could rival the supremacy of the traditional offshore Cayman Islands domicile amongst hedge fund managers.
