Former Deephaven manager Salet blends macro and derivative skills in Apson long/short equity approach

One of the more high-profile launches scheduled for the second half of this year in Europe is Apson Capital, a global equity long/short fund headed up by ex-Deephaven manager Edouard Salet.

The fund is attracting considerable interest from investors – including seed capital from one of the alternative investment world’s blue-chip names – and is scheduled to go live at the start of July.

The approach – similar to that which Salet employed, very successfully, as part of the multi-strategy fund at Deephaven from 2005 to 2008 – falls under the heading of equity long/short, but reflects Salet’s breadth of experience.
