Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild lifts lid on Prifund – a fund of funds in Brazil

The new fund of funds, which will have monthly liquidity, aims to outperform the MSCI Brazil over an economic cycle
Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild in Geneva has launched the Edmond de Rothschild Prifund a Brasil fund with $32 million. It is the twelfth fund in the Prifund a series, which includes Prifund a America, Prifund a Diversified, Prifund a Emerging Markets, Prifund a Europa, Prifund a Systematic, Prifund a Traders, Prifund a Uncorrelated and Prifund a Volatility. Most recently, the group, which manages $7 billion in alternatives, launched Prifund a 20, a concentrated higher-volatility product which invests with 20 of the banks current pool of managers.
This latest fund, launched 26 May, mixes both traditional and alternative funds investing in Brazil. There are likely to be 15 to 25 underlying managers, and a minimum of 30% of the portfolio will be allocated to long/short equity hedge funds investing in Brazil, of...
