AR Magazine wins top distinctions at the 2011 Azbee Awards.

AR Magazine's hedge fund industry columns and editorials are among the best in the financial press, according to the American Society of Business Publication Editors.

AR
editor Michelle Celarier was awarded a national gold distinction, the highest honor, for her opinion pieces. One of two winning editorials, in October 2010, defended AR's right to protect anonymous sources in the face of a legal action from Paul Singer and Elliott Management (AR ultimately prevailed). The second, from November 2010, questioned hedge fund managers' new support for Republican politicians. AR competed against publications with revenues of more than $2 million.

AR
Portfolio Watch columnist Pete Gallo was also honored. Gallo won gold in the Azbee Northeast regional competition for two columns: " Kingdon pockets profits on Coinstar's digital theme" and " Harbinger Reaches for the SkyTerra' in $262.5M deal."

Selected by a panel of business press judges, the annual Azbees are organized by ASBPE, the "professional association for full-time and freelance editors and writers employed in the business, trade, and specialty press." Other 2011 winners included Bloomberg Businessweek, The American Lawyer and Institutional Investor.

AR
also won Azbees last year for its weekly email newsletter and editorial and design excellence for a new magazine, among other honors.
