Viognier weathers markets storm with flexible multi-strategy equity approach

Viognier Capital Management, the alternative investment firm formed by seasoned hedge fund and investment banking industry professionals led by CIO Andy Mann and CEO Gregoire Varenne, has completed its first year with satisfactory results from its inaugural equity-focused fund.

Mann and Varenne have known each other for more than 20 years and previously worked together in equity derivatives at Societe Generale.

Mann went on to be a founder member of Marble Bar, subsequently spinning out his own systematic fund called CT Finance, and was also head of equity prop trading for Europe at Lehman - while Varenne latterly became global head of fixed-income, currencies and commodities prop trading at SocGen after a career spanning senior roles in equities, derivatives and fixed-income.
