Copenhagen-based fund is developing a reputation for making money in volatile and difficult periods
Copenhagen-based Mermaid Asset Management is one of the few European long/short equity funds that appears to be navigating the stormy market waters with success this year.
The Mermaid Nordic Hedge Fund – run by founders Thomas Juul-Larsen and Ulrik Jonsen together with fellow ABN Amro veteran Jonathan Copplestone, who is based in New York – is up 7.27% to the end of September after recording positive performance over the turbulent last three months, when market volatility saw many equity hedge funds come unstuck.
