LOIM unveils new senior team after Nahas quits to go solo

Lombard Odier Investment Managers has confirmed new senior management appointments in the wake of the departure of Aziz Nahas – who was formerly CIO of equities at the group and the founder of its successful 1798 hedge fund operation – to set up his own business.

Nahas, who was based in New York, was a highly-rated equities prop trader and business manager at JP Morgan and UBS/Dillon Read Capital before joining forces with Lombard Odier to launch the 1798 business in 2007. He left LOIM at the end of last year and plans to launch his own firm, although it is not clear whether this will be based in the US or Europe.
