Hedge funds will go Hollywood next month when industry elite bid to own a trendy electric car that counts Justin Bieber, Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon among its many celebrity owners.
The $108,000 Fisker Karma is up for grabs May 23 at the 10th anniversary “Open Your Heart to the Children” event at Chicago’s Venue One, a cavernous event space located north of the city’s famous Loop area. Raffle tickets, at $500 apiece, will benefit Hedge Funds Care, an industry charity that donates money to international children’s abuse charities. Founded in 1998, Hedge Funds Care has raised more than $29 million for its cause.
A local Fisker dealership donated the vehicle, which promotes itself as the world’s first luxury plug-in vehicle. Bieber received one for his 18th birthday last month.
