With the financial services industry facing a flood of new regulations in Europe, the US and elsewhere, some of the hedge fund industry’s leading regulatory specialists discussed the growing pressures being placed on managers and investors.
Among the panellists was Andrew Baker, CEO of AIMA which has been outspoken about the need for any new regulation to be proportionate and well thought out. AIMA has been particularly vocal about the EU directive, which is guaranteed to have wide-ranging consequences for fund managers, investors and counterparties.
