Initial nominations have been announced for the second Absolute UCITS Awards to recognise and honour the outstanding performers of the past year.
The winners of the ten categories with the best risk-adjusted returns in the 12 months from May 2011 to April 2012 will be published next month.
But the initial list of awards contenders already shows how quickly the alternative UCITS sector has grown in the last few years.
Big players such as Cazenove, Exane and Marshall Wace are strongly represented among the contenders in European equity, the largest category in the Absolute UCITS database by number of funds.
