With at least eight known mergers announced in just the last three months the need for scale, distribution, credibility and brand power continue to be among the drivers for deals. Noise about a sale for EIM continued as persistent rumours about KKR & Co. came true. The global investment firm founded in 1976 with roots in private equity has announced plans to acquire Prisma Capital Partners, a provider of customised hedge fund solutions, currently backed by the Aegon insurance and financial group.
