Having posted three strong years of performance while many others in the equity markets have struggled to keep their heads above water, healthcare specialist Henrik Rhenman is expecting things to get even better for his sector and – by extension – for his long-biased hedge fund strategy.

Rhenman, a veteran of Carnegie Asset Management and the founding manager of that firm’s extremely successful healthcare sector equities fund, established Stockholm-based Rhenman & Partners in 2008 and launched the Rhenman Healthcare Equity Long/Short Fund the following year.

Since then, the fund has produced an annualised return of almost 16% for its investors, providing balanced exposure to various global healthcare sub-sectors and combining a long-term investment process with dynamic short-term position trading.
