Ex-Bear Stearns, Merrill execs seek $500 million for hedge fund

Steve Meyer, former Bear global equities co-head, has joined Kevin Robik to form a market making firm while also raising money for a Millennium-style shop.
Steve Meyer, the former global co-head of equities at Bear Stearns, has partnered with ex-Bank of America equity proprietary trading chief Kevin Robik to launch Critical Investment Group, which plans to start a proprietary trading vehicle next year while also raising money for a multistrategy hedge fund, according to people familiar with the plans.
