Top hedge funds and allocators to connect at March event.

As spring begins to thaw New York City, the hedge fund industry's elite will gather March 21 for heated discussions on hot button industry issues at the 10th annual Absolute Return Symposium.

Already confirmed to speak are Boaz Weinstein, the founder of Saba Capital Management and one of the renowned hedge fund hunters of J.P. Morgan's London Whale; Andy Redleaf, founder of multistrategy firm Whitebox Advisors; Steve Kuhn, the red-hot head of fixed income trading at Pine River Capital Management; Jeffrey Kaplan, chief operating officer of Appaloosa Management; and Simon Lorne, vice chairman of Millennium Management.

They will be joined by a host of industry stars and up-and-comers, such as: Derek Smith, managing principal at BlueMountain Capital Management; Andrew Rabinowitz, chief operating officer of Marathon Asset Management; and Raijv Sobti, founder of Absolute Return award nominee Karya Capital Management.

As at previous events, the room will boast a mix of hedge fund professionals. The always-popular investor panel will include Seema Hingorani, head of public equities and hedge funds for the $110 billion Bureau of Asset Management in the New York City Office of the Comptroller; Nicole Solomon, portfolio manager and director of investments at multi-family office Ocean Road Advisors; and Maria Tapia, partner at Alternative Investment Group.
