Brenner West reopens to capital, expands team

Brenner West Capital Advisors, the $1 billion long/short equity hedge fund firm led by Joshua Kaufman and Craig Nerenberg, is reopening its flagship fund less than a year after it stopped accepting new money.

The firm said it was hard closing to new capital in November after reaching $850 million in assets under management in order to retain its portfolio concentration and stay focused on companies with market capitalizations of $1 billion to $5 billion.
