Brummer spinout Contour roars into Billion Dollar Club with 32% gain

TMT fund Manticore was up 6% in September alone, double the Absolute Return benchmark.
Name your fund "Manticore" after a mythical beast with the body of a lion, teeth of a shark and tail of a dragon, and you'd better live up to that image.

Three years after spinning out from Swedish alternatives shop Brummer & Partners, Contour Asset Management has done just that, roaring into the Absolute Return Billion Dollar Club with a 31.9% gain through the end of the third quarter for its Manticore fund, which is up 72% rise since gaining control from Brummer in October 2010. The fund also returned 21.64% and 8.02% in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
