Institutional investors see hedge funds as a must, not an alternative

Hedge funds are no longer just an option for investors, but a 'must-have’. That seemed to be conclusion of an institutional investor panel called "Have it your way: The evolving expectations of institutional investors" held at the recent Absolute Return Symposium in New York.

The panel, which was moderated by Amal Robleh, Absolute Return’s research editor, discussed how the industry has changed since the early days. According to David Katz, president and chief operating office of Larch Lane Advisors, the decision-making process of institutional investors has transformed.
