Background:
BlueCrest Capital Management was founded in London in 2000 by former JP Morgan proprietary traders Mike Platt and Bill Reeves (who is now retired) and is now officially headquartered in Guernsey with offices in Geneva, Singapore, New York and Boston as well as London.
The firm is one of the biggest in the European hedge fund world, and a multiple winner of EuroHedge awards, including four times for Management Firm of the Year (2004, 2008, 2009 and 2010) and with multiple nominations and awards for its BlueTrend managed futures strategy managed by Leda Braga as well as its original flagship, the BlueCrest Capital International fund managed by Mike Platt.
