Interview with Paul Myners, chairman, Ermitage
Paul Myners has an extensive background in investment
banking and finance and is a leading authority on corporate
governance. He has compiled influential reports on
institutional investment, pension funds and governance for HM
Treasury and the Department of Trade and Industry. In
particular, the 2001 Myners Report on institutional investment,
which was commissioned by the Treasury, covered the
relationships between companies and institutional investors.
The Report is widely regarded as a milestone in the public
debate on the future of UK pension fund investment.
Paul is chairman of the Ermitage Group, a fund of hedge
funds firm, and is also chairman of Guardian Media Group, Land
Securities Group, Aspen Insurance, and the Low Pay Commission.
He is a member of the court of directors of the Bank of England
and previously served as chairman of Gartmore Investment
Management from 1987 until 2001, and...
