The origins of Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild S.A. (BPER) go back to 1965 when Baron Edmond de Rothschild acquired Banque Privée. His Geneva-based private banking establishment was to become the cornerstone of the LCF Rothschild Group. In November 1997, Baron Edmond de Rothschild passed away, leaving his son Baron Benjamin de Rothschild to captain the ship.
