Former Tudor manager James Harpel brings 15 years' experience of emerging market investing

For all his youthful looks, former Tudor portfolio manager and partner James Harpel is something of a veteran in the world of global long/short emerging markets investing.

Now heading his newly launched, London-based hedge fund Althea Capital, Harpel previously spent 10 years running money at Tudor - and several years before that in the investment banking and hedge fund worlds as an analyst covering Asia, Latin America, eastern Europe and the Middle East.

With more than 15 years' experience of emerging markets analysis and portfolio management, Harpel brings a strong track record from Tudor. He was the sole portfolio manager of around $800 million of capital in the -Tudor BVI flagship (running the firm's biggest equities book outside the US) and one of three portfolio managers on a standalone global emerging markets fund.
