A packed programme for the eighth EuroHedge Summit, to be held in Paris on 4-5 May, is now complete – bringing together many of the hedge fund industry’s top managers and investors for Europe’s leading annual hedge fund event.
A number of new speakers and sessions have recently been added to the agenda and delegate registrations are running at record levels, with a high-capacity and high-level crowd of senior hedge fund industry executives due to attend the Summit in two weeks time at its traditional venue at Le Palais de la Bourse in the heart of the French capital.
Newly added to the agenda are five extra stream sessions – on the outlook for the financial sector; on capital-raising in the current climate; on commodity and currency strategies; on post-crisis investor requirements; and on the impact of regulatory changes in the US and Europe – as well as an additional main panel session on Investor Due Diligence.
The financials sector session features Johnny de la Hey of Toscafund, Django Davidson of Algebris, Robert Mumby of Jupiter and Philippe Kellerhals of Cairn Capital – while the panel on currencies and commodities comprises Alan Eisner of Millennium Global, James Gutman of Armajaro, Tony Hall of Duet and Patrik Safvenblad of Harmonic.
Speaking on capital-raising will be Peter Mayer of Blackstone affiliate Park Hill and ex-TCI IR head Rahul Moodgal of Parvus/Methodology, as well as seeders Philippe Paquet of Paris-based NewAlpha and Jerome Tielman of Amsterdam-based and APG-backed IMQubator.
And discussing the wave of new global financial regulation with Jiri Krol of AIMA will be experienced lawyers Martin Cornish of K&L Gates and Leonard Ng of Sidley & Austin as well as well-known industry figure and inaugural AIMA chairman Ian Morley.
James Bigglestone of Albourne and Philippe Gougenheim of Unigestion join Martin Pabari of CQS and David Yim of KPMG on the operational/counterparty risk session – while a session held in French on the post-crisis needs of big institutional investors will feature Alex Trichot of Winton and Laurent Leclerq of Advent, together with Olivier Portal of Credit Agricole Assurances and Vianney Dubois of Morningstar France.
Further expanding the investor-driven content at this year’s event will be a newly-added main panel session on Due Diligence comprising Nathanael Benzaken of Lyxor, Eric Bissonnier of EIM, Mark Geene of Dutch pension fund group PGGM and Jerome Lussan of Laven – in a session moderated by Stephen Oxley of PAAMCO.
The panel discussion on Credit and Distressed Investing will also be moderated by an expert investor, in the shape of Patrick Brennan of Schroders NewFinance Capital, while other recent additions to the main panel sessions include Jim Conklin of FX Concepts on Macro, Tim Gascoigne of HSBC on Investors, Fabrice Seiman of Lutetia Capital on Event-Driven and Jochen Wermuth of Wermuth Asset Management on Emerging Markets.
The EuroHedge Summit will bring together senior representatives from all sides of the industry to discuss the key issues, challenges and opportunities facing all those involved with hedge funds under the title of ‘Strategies for a New World’. More than 850 high-level hedge fund industry executives are expected to attend the event, primarily investors and managers.
As previously announced, the three keynote speakers at this year’s Summit are Colm O’Shea, the founder of global macro fund COMAC Capital; Lee Robinson, co-founder of $1 billion multi-strategy group Trafalgar Asset Managers; and Tim Tacchi, the founder of $18 billion firm TT International and one of the pioneers of the hedge fund industry in Europe.
Among numerous other top-level managers and investors participating in panel discussions over the two days will be Manny Roman of Man GLG, Paul Ruddock of Lansdowne, Klaus Jantti of Brummer, Peter Harrison of RWC, Gavyn Davies of Fulcrum, Alexandre Col of Edmond de Rothschild, Luigi Buttiglione of Brevan Howard, Tim Bond of Odey, Kathryn Graham of BT Pension, Christopher Fawcett of Fauchier and Omar Kodmani of Permal.
