Ex-TCI partner Powers readies Hengistbury

Former TCI partner Stuart Powers has assembled a strong team at his new London-based firm Hengistbury Investment Partners ahead of the keenly-awaited launch of his own global equity fund at the start of next year.

Powers, formerly a director and senior analyst at Cazenove, joined Chris Hohn’s The Children’s Investment Fund shortly after its creation in 2004 and spent more than six years with the firm as senior global cross-sector analyst and head of Europe before leaving at the end of 2010.

He was also the only analyst at TCI to run his own book. For 14 months prior to leaving the firm he managed a sub-portfolio within the main fund...
