As the past year has illustrated, the working life for the
average hedge fund manager continues to be a challenging and
stressful one. For those who have survived the financial shocks
of 2008 and the subsequent industry shake-out, they can take
some comfort from the better economic outlook for 2012. Yet, at
the same time, many of the difficulties that have come to
characterise the global hedge fund industry continue to stretch
a manager's investment talent and business acumen.
