The drive by Man Group, the beleaguered London-listed hedge fund group, to restore the stockmarket’s faith in its strategy and performance has stepped up a gear with the appointment of former Goldman Sachs man and experienced hedge fund industry corporate financier Jonathan Sorrell as its new finance director.
Sorrell, who joined from Goldman last August as head of group strategy and corporate finance, takes over the finance director role with immediate effect from Kevin Hayes – who joined in 2007 and is now leaving “to pursue other professional and personal interests”.
