A fund without the volatility of the Brazilian stock market

One of the newest alternative UCITS-compliant strategies from the Latin American region is MS Claritas Long Short Market Neutral UCITS Fund.

The strategy launched in December 2011 and consists of between 40 to 60 Brazilian stocks.

Helder Soares (pictured), chief investment officer and founding partner of São Paulo-based Claritas Investimentos, says the Brazilian stock market, as represented by the Bovespa Index, has been up and down 20% this year.

He says: "Year-to-date to July 2012 the fund is up 5% - this means that investors can access Brazil without any of the downside and volatility."
