What is the point of the consultation document?  Why did it come out so soon after UCITS V?

The aim of the consultation is to gather systematic input from all stakeholders on a range of issues that have been discussed widely in recent months amongst EU regulators, industry experts, academics, investor representatives and other stakeholders.  This includes international work on shadow banking, as well as our Green Paper on shadow banking. The results of the consultation will allow the Commission to form an objective view on what the next steps should be for the UCITS framework in particular.
