Browsers

The most common problems encountered when browsing online are caused by the version or settings of your browser. You can usually check the version of the browser you are using by clicking 'Help' and then 'About'. In order to get the best possible online experience, we recommend that you use one of the following browsers:

  • Internet Explorer Windows 8 or later
  • Firefox Windows 7 or later
  • Safari Windows 5 or later
  • Chrome Windows 16 or later
  • Opera Windows 11 or later

Browser Settings

Browser settings on a PC or Mac:
To ensure you can use and access all areas of the website, we recommend adjusting your browser settings as follows:

  • Images turned on
  • JavaScript turned on

This website is best viewed with JavaScript enabled.

To turn JavaScript on for Internet Explorer:

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Internet options
  2. Select the Security tab and choose Internet zone Custom level
  3. Scroll down the page until you find Scripting
  4. The first sub-heading is Active scripting, make sure the button labelled Enabled is selected
  5. Click OK, then OK again and select the Refresh button in the browser bar at the top of your screen.

To turn JavaScript on for Firefox:

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Options
  2. Select the Content tab, then select the Enable JavaScript tick box
  3. Click OK, then select the Refresh button in the browser bar at the top of your screen.

To turn JavaScript on for Safari:

  1. From the EDIT menu, choose preferences
  2. Select the security tab
  3. Check the 'Enable Javascript' option
  4. Click the X in the top left corner to close the window.

To turn JavaScript on for Chrome:

  1. Click on the wrench icon, select settings
  2. Click show advanced settings
  3. Select content settings
  4. From the javascript section, click 'Allow all sites to run JavaScript'
  5. Click OK, then select the Refresh button in the browser bar at the top of your screen.

To turn JavaScript on for Opera:

  1. Click on the menu
  2. Highlight settings, select preferences
  3. Select the advanced tab, select content
  4. Select the advanced tab, select content
  5. Click OK, then select the Refresh button in the browser bar at the top of your screen.

To set Internet Explorer to accept cookies:

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Internet options
  2. Select the Privacy tab and click on the Advanced button
  3. Tick the 'Override automatic cookie handling' box
  4. Select either the 'Accept' or 'Prompt' radio button and click ok
  5. Click OK

To set Firefox to accept cookies:

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Options
  2. Select the Privacy icon, then the Cookies tab
  3. Tick the 'Allow sites to set cookies' box
  4. Click OK

To set Safari to accept cookies:

  1. From the EDIT menu, choose preferences
  2. Select the Security tab
  3. Tick the 'Only from sites you navigate to' option
  4. Click the X in the top left corner to close the window

To set Chrome to accept cookies:

  1. Click on the wrench icon, select settings
  2. Click show advanced settings
  3. Select content settings
  4. From the cookies section, click 'Allow local data to be set' option
  5. Click OK

To set Opera to accept cookies:

  1. Click on the menu
  2. Highlight settings, select preferences
  3. Select the advanced tab, select cookies
  4. Click 'Accept cookies' option
  5. Click OK
