Strategy shift, robust markets boost gains for Japanese Wisdom Advanced

Brisk trading in Japanese stocks has helped to drive solid performance from the Wisdom Advanced Fund, which delivered an impressive 37.9% return in the first half of the year.

The Japanese equity market-neutral strategy, which is run by Tokyo-based Epic Partners Investments, has $42 million in assets under management.

Furthermore, a tweak in the fund’s investment strategy earlier this year also helped to “squeeze more profit out of investments in the period,” said company investor relations manager Mitsuhiro Matsunaga.

“While previously the fund was very much value-oriented, we are now looking for multiple approaches to investing, including event-driven.
