Capstone shutters Singapore office


New York-based global volatility hedge fund manager Capstone Investment Advisors has closed its office in Singapore but will continue to trade Asian markets from its London office.

Dustin Sugasa, the ex-Lehman portfolio manager the firm hired in 2008 to run its Asia-focused volatility fund, is relocating to London together with two other Capstone staff, but the employment of three more staff based in the city has now been terminated.

A spokesperson for the firm, which manages $1.3 billion, says the decision to close the Singapore office is just a ‘case of streamlining’. The move will effectively centralise trading
