MW Global, Manticore shine in a dismal year for global equity


Global equity funds generally suffered a very torrid time last year, making the performance of those few managers that bucked the negative trend all the more noteworthy.

Marshall Wace’s MW Global Opportunities ended the year with a highly impressive return of 27.16%, while Brummer & Partners Manticore was up by a striking 21.42% in 2011 and GLG Technology gained 19.91%.

AAM Absolute Return returned 14.89% on the year, while Sector Speculare II was up 14.00%, Noster Global Value rose 14.15% and Thyra Technology gained 9.77%.
