UCLA starts search for chief investment officer

The UCLA Investment Company, which assumed the responsibility for the $1.4 billion UCLA Endowment last fall, has begun the search for a chief investment officer.

UCLA is recruiting a president and chief investment officer to strengthen its internal capacity and to help define the strategic vision for the future management of the portfolios.

The investment management of the endowment has progressed from primarily a stock portfolio to a fully diversified investment programme. The current asset mix is 27% public equities, 27% marketable alternatives, 15% non-marketable alternatives, 8% real estate, 12% natural resources, and 11% fixed-income.
